<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a battery load test by generating the same situation as at the time of an abnormality alarm, such as a fire, and to enable more precise notice of a battery capacity reduction even at low temperature. <P>SOLUTION: A residential alarm unit 10 utilizes a battery 34 as a power source. An alarm processing part 70 causes a notice part 32 to output an audible alarm indicating abnormality from a speaker 36 when the alarm processing part 70 detects abnormality in a detection signal from a sensor part 26. In a periodic battery load test, a battery testing part 72 orders gain control to a gain control part 64 based on a sensed temperature of a temperature detecting part 33 so that battery voltage which decreases due to the battery load test substantially coincides even if the temperature varies, and the battery voltage is detected while a voice amplifier 62 amplifies a silent test signal and a driving current equivalent to a current in an abnormality alarm situation is applied to the speaker 36. When the battery voltage detected in the battery load test of the battery testing part 72 has decreased to a voltage lower than or equal to a specified threshold value, a battery capacity monitoring part 74 determines a battery capacity reduction and causes the notice part 32 to output a battery capacity reduction alarm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
