The present invention relates to a system and a method for adjusting the position of a headrest, which are capable of comfortably and restfully supporting the head and the neck of a passenger when the passenger in a vehicle lays the seatback of a seat back. The system is capable of automatically moving the headrest back or forth, or up or down according to the tilt variation of the seatback, so the headrest supporting the neck and head of the passenger can be moved to correspond to the tilt angle of the passenger according to the tilt of the seatback, which supports the back or the like of the passenger, when the passenger lays the seatback back in order to sleep or the like, thereby allowing the headrest to comfortably supporting the neck and the head of the passenger. The system according to the present invention comprises: a seatback tilt detecting part generating angle data when detecting the angle of the seatback mounted in the vehicle; a headrest angle adjusting part adjusting the angle of the headrest on the upper side of the seat when tilting the headrest back or forth; and a control part controlling the angle of the headrest when outputting an angle control value to the headrest angle adjusting part, wherein the angle control value allows the headrest to be tilted back or forth according to the angle data transmitted from the seatback tilt detecting part. |
