<p>Mould design where a column rising from the top of the mould is drilled to contain a roller which engages a slotted bar passing through a window in the column. The slotted bar is driven by a double action hydraulic ram which reciprocates horizontlly. The slot has flats and inclines (straight or curved) to raise and lower the mould as the bar reciprocates. For foamed components, the 'mould closed' flat leads to a slightly higher flat to expand the cavity. Esp for injection moulding shoe soles in dense or foamed plastics. The shape and overall length of the cam slot allows the reciprocating ram to operate continuously and provide a simple, smooth and very reproducible cycle.</p> |
