<p>Evaporation cooling system for metallurgical furnaces has vertically mounted tubes for the ascending circulation of a cooling agent, the tubes being in the form of coils placed in at least two rows so that their longitudinal axes are situated in planes parallel to the active surface of the coolers, the loops of the coil being disposed across the width of the cooler in a transverse direction to the longitudinal axis of the element. Pref the coil loops of one row are staggered relative to the coil loops of the other row. Esp useful for the blast furnaces. The cooling system has a high cooling efficiency as plugs of vapour do not form in the coils. The cooling system has a long life itself, and ensures a long life for the furnace cover.</p> |
