Tubes are sorted according to similarity of their ends. The feet of the tubes have a greater dia. than the heads. The rejection device has cam elements, with curved edges, which can move perp. to the length direction of the tubes. Each cam is associated with one end of the tube to be sorted. Only the edge near the foot cams lie on the tube. The foot is displaced in the long axis direction, of the tube into the preset drop place for the tube.
