摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image pickup apparatus using simply configurable adaptive optics which can compensate for disturbance on an optical wavefront from an observation object and reduce halation in a photographed observation object, thereby helping to improve resolution. <P>SOLUTION: In a measurement control apparatus 17, an ideal image estimated to be photographed in an ideal environment free of disturbances on an optical wavefront, as compared to an actual image of an observation object photographed by an image pickup device 16, is created. A difference between ideal characteristics of transfer from the observation object to the image pickup device 16 in the ideal environment and actual characteristics of transfer from the observation object to the image pickup device 16 at a time when the actual image is photographed is found based on the actual image and the ideal image. Drive of a wavefront controller 15 is controlled so that this difference will become smaller, in which way halation in a photographed observation object is reduced for improved resolution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
