Enamel slip is drawn over an article by positioning a bell over the article and evacuating 'the interior of the bell, and subsequently allowing the enamel slip to sink by venting the bell. An article 4 is placed on supports 3, 3a over enamel slip 2 in a vessel 1. A bell 5 is lowered over article 4 to dip into the enamel slip, and is evacuated by a vacuum pump 8 via a pipe 7 and a two-way valve 9, whereby bell 5 is filled with the enamel slip. Air is then re-admitted to bell 5, the latter is raised, and the coated article is replaced by an uncoated article. |
