<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The fireplace (1) has a fixed part surrounding an opening toward a combustion chamber. A movable part is opposite to an opening and a sealing device. The movable part includes a glass wall (2), and a sliding unit slides the wall in translation to release an access to the opening. A sealing device includes a seal placed on the fixed part and an application unit to apply the seal on the movable part. The application unit is configured for being activated only when the opening is blocked so as to avoid friction of the seal against the movable part when the wall slides. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Fireplace e.g. solid fuel such as wood/gas stove or insert type furnace, for use in passive house. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The application unit of the seal is configured for being activated only when the opening is blocked so as to avoid the friction of the seal against the movable part during the pure translation of door. The sealing device assures perfect sealing between the combustion chamber and a surrounding part without requiring compression force and being resistant to high temperatures for controlled combustion in the fireplace. The seal provides perfect sealing to offer a possibility of realizing perfectly sealed fireplace with respect to a room in which the fireplace is placed, thus allowing the fireplace to meet increased demands related to installation of the fireplace in passive houses. The sealing device meets safety criteria in the fireplace. The seal is subjected to pre-stress so as to elongate length equivalent to length obtained from thermal dilatation when the seal is implemented at cold so as to avoid risk of uncontrolled deformation during utilization of the seal at hot.
