The present invention relates to a current suppression device which is connected between an AC/DC converter and a direct current power transmission unit to control a short-circuit current of the direct current power transmission unit in a high voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission system. The current suppression device comprises multiple current suppression modules which are arranged between an AC/DC converter to perform conversion between alternating current power and direct current power and a direct current transmission unit to transmit the direct current power to selectively output at least one of two voltages, wherein a short-circuit current supplied to the direct current power transmission unit is suppressed by supplying a voltage between the AC/DC converter and the direct current power transmission unit in addition to the voltage outputted from the current suppression modules. |
