<p>A semiconductor memory device includes: a cell string which includes first to n-th memory cells which store data of a first bit (n>1, n is a natural number) and dummy memory cells which do not store the data; and a peripheral circuit which controls the cell string to store the data of the first bit in at least one dummy memory cell among the dummy memory cells and to store data of a second bit which is smaller than the first bit in at least two memory cells among the first to n-th memory cells.</p> |
