<p>A self-releasing locking device 400 for locking a connector (e.g. an RJ-type or LC connector) comprises: a locking tongue support 402 to support a locking tongue 106 of the connector; a first retaining mechanism 406 to engage a portion 312 of a terminal housing of the connector; and a first release arm 408 to release the retaining mechanism 406 from the terminal housing. The device may further comprise a second retaining mechanism 406 for engaging a second portion 312 of the terminal housing, wherein a second release arm 408 releases the second retaining mechanism 406 and wherein the first and second retaining mechanisms 406 are positioned in opposing directions and the first and second release arms 408 release their respective retaining mechanisms 406 by pivoting towards one another. In a separate embodiment a key-release connector locking device comprises a key-accessible release arm to release the retaining mechanism from the terminal housing. The key may have: a first release prong for engaging the key-accessible release arm; and a support means for engaging an installation and removal protrusion extending from a top surface of the locking device, and for facilitating installation/removal of the locking device.</p> |
