A rotary bearing (12) is arranged at a basic vehicle (2) e.g. wheel- or chain vehicle, or at a connecting rod (13) so that the bearing is found in a position adjacent to the basic vehicle, in a transport position of the shield, and the bearing is found in another position that is distant from the basic vehicle, in a supporting position of the shield. The cylinder-unit acts to support the motor vehicle by application of a device structural unit (3), in the latter position. #CMT# : #/CMT# The device structural unit is designed as a laying device and recovery device. The piston-cylinder-unit is designed as a hydraulic cylinder. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Motor vehicle e.g. recovery vehicle (claimed) and bridge laying tank.
