<p>1,249,911. Magnetic storage apparatus. RCA CORPORATION. 1 Jan., 1969 [5 Jan., 1968], No. 114/69. Heading H3B. [Also in Division H2]. In a magnetic core memory plane the terminals 14 on the support 10 are each constituted by an elongate metallic member of rectangular cross-section upstanding from the surface of the support 10 and having its free end bent sharply back 28 towards support 10 to form a notch for receiving and gripping one of the memory wires 20. The support 10 may be a continuous rectangular sheet or it may be a sheet provided with a rectangular opening 12. The core plane is assembled by first supporting the array of magnetic cores 16 on edge by means of an adhesive sheet with their apertures aligned. The wires 20 are then threaded-by passing each wire e.g. 201 through the open end of the notch in member 141, through the corresponding row of cores 16 and through the open end of the notch of member 14<SP>11</SP>. The wire ends are pulled or jerked upwardly 36 to cause the wires to be broken off and gripped in the notches.</p> |
