<p>The present invention relates to a light guide plate capable of preventing patterning defects, which comprises: a first side surface; a lower surface to reflect a light source; an upper surface to emit the light reflected from the lower surface; and a second side surface facing the first side surface, and to a backlight unit using the same. The light guide plate includes a plurality of variable microstructures, and no pattern is formed on the light guide plate. According to the present invention, the unpatterned light guide plate is applied to reduce costs compared to an existing printed or laser patterned light guide plate. Also, the variable microstructures are bonded to the light guide plate to reduce the number of assembly steps compared to an existing backlight assembly process, thereby reducing costs. Also, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer (CLC layer) is additionally applied to the light guide plate to realize a high brightness display.</p> |
