1. A method for extracting nicked DNA from a blood sample, the method comprising:
(a) contacting a blood sample containing DNA with an endonuclease or exonuclease to produce a nick in the DNA; (b) contacting the blood sample with a single stranded binding protein (SSB) immobilized on a matrix, whereby the SSB binds to the nick in the DNA to produce an SSB-bound DNA; and (c) extracting the SSB-bound DNA from the blood sample. |
