<p>An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for coding a frequency conversion block by using a frequency mask table, and a method and an apparatus for coding/decoding an image by using the same. An embodiment of the present invention provides a method and an apparatus for coding a frequency conversion block by using a frequency mask table, in which a masked frequency conversion block which is generated by masking the frequency conversion block by using a frequency mask table and information about the frequency mask table used for masking are coded. A decoding end extracts a masked quantization frequency coefficient sequence recorded in a bit-stream by extracting the information about the frequency mask table. All of quantization frequency coefficients, which are placed not to be recorded in the bit-stream from the masked quantization frequency coefficient sequence by using the information about the extracted frequency mask table, are set into′0 (zero)′, so that a quantization frequency coefficient sequence is generated. A quantization frequency conversion block is generated by reverse-scanning the generated quantization frequency coefficient sequence to perform a decoding process.</p> |
