1,213,871. Fluidic divider. BERTIN & CIE. 14 Feb., 1968 [14 Feb., 1967], No. 7287/68. Heading G4P. A fluidic divider comprises a first bi-stable circuit having channels 3, 6, 7 and a second bi-stable circuit 10, 11, 12. Permanent flow of fluid is directed to channel 6 by control pressures at 4 or 5, Fig. 1, or by the channel configuration, Fig. 4 (not shown). The fluid circulates in the direction of arrow 21 in vortex chamber 8, and sets up flow in the direction shown in channels 10, 11. When a fluid pulse is applied at 20 it acts through channel 10 to form a vortex in chamber 8, and the back pressure in channel 6 becomes great enough to switch the permanent flow to channel 7. As a result a pulse passes to outputs 16 or 18, and the vortex is stopped. When the pulse at 20 ceases fluid circulates in 10, 11, and 8 in the direction opposite to arrows 23, 22, and 21. The next pulse acts through channel 11 and returns the flow to the directions shown and gives no output at 16, 18. Output 18 may be connected to the pulse input 20 of a similar divider stage. |
