<p>Adducts from 1,3-diene and butadiene dimer derivs Cpds contg polyunsatd aliphatic gps. are prepd. by reacting (1) a diene of formula (where the R1 gps. (= or is not =) are H or alkyl and R2 is H or alk(en)yl, with (2) a is not 12C 1-substd 2,7-alkadiene of formula X-CH2- = -CH2CH2C - =Ch2 or (3) a is not 12C 2-substd 1,7-alkadiene of formula CH2= - -CH2CH2 H - =CH2, (where the r3 gps (= or is not =) are H or alkyl, and X is OH, alkoxy, aryloxy, or acyloxy). The reaction is carried out in the presence of (4) a rhodium cpd. The products include straight-chain and branched-chain cpds. which are raw materials for synth drying oils or modified alkyd resins, or intermediates for surfactants.</p> |
