A bend insensitive optical fiber having a low bending loss according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a core positioned in the center of the optical fiber and having a refractive index contrast of Δn1 in the optical fiber; and a clad disposed outside the core and having a refractive index lower than the refractive index of the core, wherein the clad includes: an inner layer (120) having refractive index contrasts of Δn2 and Δn3 lower than the refractive index of the core while having a refractive index becoming smaller as going away from the outer periphery of the core; a trench layer having an outer peripheral refractive index contrast of Δn4 which is the smallest in the optical fiber; and an outer layer disposed outside the trench layer, wherein the refractive index contrast of the core is 0.50 to 0.54%, the refractive index contrast Δn2 of the inner layer are 0.1 to 0.15%, the refractive index contrast Δn3 of the inner layer is 0.15 to 0.2%, and the outer peripheral refractive index contrast Δn4 of the trench layer is 0.2 to 0.38%. |
