PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine status information which is necessary for a user to be notified and has high priority and perform notification.SOLUTION: An information processing device control method comprises the steps of: acquiring status information indicating a status of a predetermined status item in the device; and determining the acquired status as a notification target to be notified to a user under conditions where at least one of the case where a status of a predetermined status item indicated by the acquired status information is different from a status indicated by status information acquired prior to the present acquisition and the case where the priority of the predetermined status item is higher than a predetermined priority is satisfied.
