<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device which can improve spectral characteristics.SOLUTION: A solid state image pickup device 10 according to an embodiment comprises: a semiconductor substrate 13 having a light receiving part 17; a color filter layer 12; and a wavelength selective reflection layer 19. The color filter layer 12 is provided on a rear face of the semiconductor substrate 13 and includes a blue color filter part 12B which has a transmission band for transmitting blue light and absorbing light of a band other than the transmission band. The wavelength selective reflection layer 19 is provided between the rear face of the semiconductor substrate 13 and the blue color filter layer 12B and includes a wavelength selective reflection part 19B. The wavelength selective reflection part 19B is provided in contact with the blue color filter part 12B and has a refractive index substantially the same with that of the blue color filter part 12B within the transmission band and has a refractive index substantially different from that of the blue color filter part 12B in a band other than the transmission band.</p> |
