PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a technique enabling accurate calculation of the probability of occurrence of a failure in a target apparatus that has a mechanism to change plural parameters in correlation, the parameters indicating an internal state of the apparatus.SOLUTION: A symptom diagnosis model creation block 310 divides a normality data group and a failure symptom data group into plural clusters, the data groups having, as elements, feature amounts of plural image-forming parameters related to a category of failure for each category of failures, and create a symptom diagnosis model for each of the plural clusters; and, for an image forming apparatus 100 as a target of symptom diagnosis, a symptom diagnosis block 320 selects a symptom diagnosis model with a highest level of consistency with a symptom diagnosis data group having, as elements, the feature amounts of plural image-forming parameters related to the category of failure for each category of failure, and performs a symptom diagnosis of a failure using the symptom diagnosis model. |
