PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device for character display for displaying a "document in which the characters included in a line are prescribed," the electronic device minimizing display switchover and made easy for a user to read even when a degree of magnification is changed.SOLUTION: Provided is an electronic device for document display for displaying, on a display device, a document in which the characters included in a line are prescribed, the document being displayed in a partial line display mode in which part of a line width is displayed, with the document expanded to be larger than a full width display mode in which the entire width of lines is displayed, wherein a control device divides one or a plurality of lines in the line width direction into a plurality of partial line areas, sequentially displays each of the partial line areas in the partial line display mode so that each of the partial line areas is aligned in the line break direction, and displays the subsequent lines in the partial line display mode in the same way, whereby the entire line is displayed without switching the display even when the document is displayed in the partial line display mode. |
