PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery having a large volume energy density and good load characteristic, and a positive electrode for lithium ion battery which enables the arrangement of the lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: A positive electrode for lithium ion battery comprises: a positive electrode mixture layer including active material particles, a conductive assistant agent, a dispersant and a resin binder. The active material particles include 70-95 mass% of particles having particle diameters of 0.8-35 μm, and 5-30 mass% of particles having particle diameters of 0.001-0.4 μm. The particles having particle diameters of 0.8-35 μm, and the particles having particle diameters of 0.001-0.4 μm account for 90 mass% or more in total. The conductive assistant agent contains a carbon material. In the positive electrode mixture layer, the content of the carbon material is 0.5-7 mass%. The positive electrode mixture layer has a porosity of 5-15 vol.%. A lithium ion secondary battery comprises the positive electrode for lithium ion battery. |
