PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating applicator that reduces concentration of a coating liquid through a circulating process for the coating liquid while employing simpler device constitution comprising a smaller number of components, an image formation apparatus, and a coating liquid maintenance method.SOLUTION: In a coating applicator including a coating roller (112) for applying a coating liquid over a coated medium, a coating pan (114) where a coating liquid to be supplied to the coating roller is reserved, and a coating liquid tank (122) where a coating liquid to be supplied to the coating pan is reserved, the coating liquid from the coating pan is circulated through a coating pan first circulation passage (142), a control valve (146) is switched so as to collect part of the circulated coating liquid into the coating liquid tank not too much to continuously supply the coating liquid to the coating part, and the coating liquid is fed from the coating liquid tank to the coating pan by an amount corresponding to the amount of the collected coating liquid. The coating liquid is circulated substantially directly between the coating pan and coating liquid tank so as to greatly delay concentration of the coating liquid. |
