PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an add-length material detection device which can simply and securely remove an add-length material and can replace the add-length material with a standard length material.SOLUTION: Before or after plural steel bars 3 are cut altogether by a cold shear 1 disposed on rolling equipment for steel bars, a shape of the steel bar 3 disposed on a transportation table is measured by a laser measuring device 10. From irregularity data obtained as a result of this shape measurement, existence of the steel bar 3 at a measurement position is detected, whereby the number of the steel bars 3 on the transportation table 2 can be confirmed. Thus, an add-length material, which does not satisfy a predetermined product length, can be detected and removed. |
