PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute EGR even in a cold weather, and to prevent an engine from being damaged by a considerably large amount of water accumulated in an intake passage which intrudes into a combustion chamber when an accelerator pedal is pressed while improving fuel economy performance in a control device for an engine having an EGR device.SOLUTION: A control device for an engine includes determination means for determining whether condensed water in an amount of equal to or more than a prescribed amount is accumulated in an intake passage or not, and EGR regulating means for regulating recirculation of exhaust gas by an EGR device when it is determined by the determination means that the condensed water in an amount of equal to or more than the prescribed amount is accumulated.
