The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery containing a cathode, an anode and a nonaqueous electrolyte having a lithium salt. The anode contains the compound of chemical formula 1 as an anode active material, and the electrolyte contains an additive that interacts with the compound of chemical formula 1 to reduce recovery capacity due to storage at high temperature, thereby providing a lithium secondary battery with an improved high temperature performance.
