<p>2-Ethoxy-5-chlorophenylalkyl dimethylamines, diuretics New cpds. of formula (I) (where R is straight chain 1-5C alkyl, branched 3-5C alkyl or 5-6C cycloalkyl). The cpds. are prepd. by the LiAlH4 reduction of the corresp. dimethyl amides. Cpds. exhibit diuretic activity. In an example N, N-dimethyl 2-(5-chloro-2-ethoxy) phenyl pentenamide was treated with LiAlH4 in a mixture of ether and THF, to give a 40% yield of (I) (R=nC3H7).</p> |
