An air damper is configured so that a piston has a receiving groove which is circumferentially provided in the piston, an O-ring which is fitted in the receiving groove and which divides the inside of a cylinder into a front chamber and a rear chamber, and an air passage groove which connects from the bottom surface of the receiving groove to the rear chamber. The air damper is configured so that, when moving the cylinder backward, the flow of air flowing from the rear chamber to the front chamber while being accompanied by the forward movement, within the receiving groove, of the O-ring is decreased, and when moving the cylinder forward, the flow of air flowing from the front chamber to the rear chamber while being accompanied by the backward movement, within the receiving groove, of the O-ring is increased by means of the air passage groove. The receiving groove is defined by the bottom surface of the receiving groove and by front and rear flange sections facing each other across the bottom surface. Three or more such air passage grooves described above are provided at positions which almost equally divide the circumference of both the rear flange section and the bottom surface of the receiving groove.
|
