The system (1) has a tensioning device (5) for tensioning a reversible seat belt and comprising or utilizing a detection unit to detect over-steering or under-steering in a situation. A determination unit determines a longitudinal deceleration of a vehicle, where the system is configured for testing veracity of a condition e.g. deceleration condition, of longitudinal speed of the vehicle, relative to a parameter indicative of behavior of the vehicle and/or driver, and controlling activation of the tensioning device based on the test result. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling activation of a tensioning device of a reversible seat belt of a protection system. |
