PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce degradation in image quality when image processing is performed using a distance map.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: image acquisition means for acquiring an image; distance map acquisition means for acquiring a distance map; compensation means for detecting from the image a saliency region to which people are likely to pay attention and compensating the distance map on the basis of the saliency region; and image processing means for performing image processing to the image using the distance map compensated by the compensation means.
