Provided is a wireless communication system whereby it is possible to use the same frequency band with both Time Division Duplexing (TDD) and Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD). A wireless terminal carries out receiving of a downlink of Frequency Division Duplexing with a second frequency band which overlaps with a first frequency band which is allocated to Time Division Duplexing, and carries out receiving on the basis of the receiving timing of the downlink of the Time Division Duplexing. Or the wireless terminal carries out receiving of a downlink of Time Division Duplexing with a second frequency band which overlaps with a first frequency band which is allocated to Frequency Division Duplexing, and carries out receiving on the basis of the receiving timing of a downlink of the Frequency Division Duplexing.
