A treatment tool (12) comprises a pair of jaws (52, 54). The first jaw (52) has a first working area (82a) in the center and a second working area (82b) on both sides. The second jaw (54) has a third working area (84a) in the center and a fourth working area (84b) on both sides. The first working area (82a) and the third working area (84a) protrude. When biological tissues (L1, L2) are held between the jaws (52, 54), great pressure is applied on a part of the biological tissues (L1, L2) between the first working area (82a) and the third working area (84a). This part is heated to about 280°C by heating elements (72a, 74a), carbonated, and broken apart. A part (S) of the biological tissues (L1, L2) between the second working area (82b) and the fourth working area (84b) is heated to about 200°C by heating elements (72b, 74b), solidified, and joined together. Thus, the biological tissues (L1, L2) are cut and joined at the same time. |
