PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive rubber composition allowing formation of a transfer roller that less likely induces image defects caused by irregular charging of a sheet, since the roller has a large foam cell diameter with a small variance, and to provide a transfer roller formed from the conductive rubber composition, and an image forming apparatus in which the transfer roller is assembled.SOLUTION: A conductive rubber composition is prepared by compounding azodicarbonamide as a foaming agent having a volume-basis median diameter of 20 to 40 μm by 0.5 to 8 parts by mass, together with a crosslinking component, into total 100 parts by mass of a rubber component comprising SBR, EPDM, and epichlorohydrin rubber. A transfer roller 1 is manufactured by extrusion-molding the conductive rubber composition into a long cylindrical body, and consecutively passing the cylindrical body in a microwave crosslinking device and a hot-blow crosslinking device to consecutively foam and crosslink while continuously feeding the long cylindrical body without cutting. The transfer roller is assembled in an image forming apparatus. |
