PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display system capable of reducing crosstalk while making a stereoscopic image shown to a user bright.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 16 includes: a panel control part 22 which switches and displays images for right eye and left eye; a spectacles control part 24 which controls opening and closing of liquid crystal shutters 14L and 14R that stereoscopic spectacles have in synchronism with switching cycles of the images of the liquid crystal panel 16; and a light control part 26 which is provided behind the liquid crystal panel 16, and controls lighting states of a back light 18 lighting up the whole display region 17. The light control part 26 lights up the whole display region 17 by turning on the back light 18 after the spectacles control part 24 starts applying a drive voltage to the liquid crystal shutters 14L and 14R, and turns off the back light 18 after the spectacles control part 24 finishes applying the drive voltage to the liquid crystal shutters 14L and 14R.
