The objective of the present invention is to enable the implementation of maximum likelihood decoding of a sparse graph code with a low computational burden. In the present invention a process for decoding lost data by a trivial decoding method and a process for decoding lost data by a Gaussian elimination method are repeatedly and alternately performed in the maximum likelihood decoding of a sparse graph code.
