<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side thruster for a ship, in which a power transmission structure hardly produces vibration and noise and can have a simple and compact structure.SOLUTION: A side thruster 10 for a ship is arranged in a tunnel 9 that penetrates the lower part of a hull 2 in a transversal direction and configured so that the hull 2 creates thrust in a transversal direction. The side thruster 10 for a ship comprises a housing 12 located in the tunnel 9, a propeller shaft 13 that protrudes from the housing 12 in a transversal direction, propellers 14 mounted on the protruding ends of the propeller shaft 13, and a hydraulic motor 15 for rotating the propeller shaft 13. The hydraulic motor 15 is accommodated in the housing 12.</p> |
