PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen separation body having high hydrogen permeability and a production method of the same.SOLUTION: A hydrogen separation body (1) comprises: a porous layer (19); and a hydrogen separation layer (17) disposed within the porous layer (19) and filled with a hydrogen separation metal selectively permeating only hydrogen in hydrogen-containing gases. The average concentration of the constituent material of the porous layer (19) and an inorganic element other than the hydrogen separation metal is 0.30 atm% or less in a thickness range within 5μm at a side being adjacent to the hydrogen separation layer (17) and being supplied with the hydrogen-containing gases in the porous layer (19).
