The present invention relates to a new use of prothioconazole for increasing root growth of crop plants belonging to the plant family Brassicaceae, in particular oilseed rape or winter oilseed rape as well as a new method of treating Brassicacea plants or plant parts with a composition comprising prothioconazole for increasing root growth of the plants.
