PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional AC/DC conversion device that allows reducing power consumption of a converter and processing load of a drive circuit in performing DC/AC conversion, an intermittent conversion method of the converter in the bidirectional AC/DC conversion device, and a computer program to achieve the intermittent conversion method.SOLUTION: A bidirectional AC/DC conversion device 1 includes: an inverter 5 bidirectionally converting an alternate current and a direct current; a converter 10 bidirectionally voltage-converting a direct current; a capacitor C2 smoothing a DC voltage converted by the inverter 5 and a DC voltage converted in one direction by the converter 10; and a control unit 9 controlling on and off of conversion by the converter 10 and controlling direction of the conversion by the inverter 5 and the converter 10. When a voltage of the capacitor C2 is lower than a predetermined voltage, the control unit 9 turns on the conversion in the one direction.
