PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for making fluorocarbon such as perfluorocarbon (PFC) contact medicine for decomposing and fixing it efficiently and at low cost.SOLUTION: Fluorocarbon is made to contact a decomposition treatment agent containing zeolite having an acid point and an alkali earth metal compound, for decomposing the fluorocarbon, and fixing the fluorine to the decomposition treatment agent as a fluoride metal by reaction with the decomposed product including fluorine. The decomposition treatment agent and the fluorocarbon are brought into contact at 773K or more.
