<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver to easily perform a route search by adding a stopover point while driving.SOLUTION: A navigation device comprises: a storage unit which stores various types of icons corresponding to genres of POIs (Point Of Interests) as specific facilities, and map information; a transmission unit which transmits an acquisition request signal for current position information for locating a current position of a vehicle and pieces of POI information about the POIs, each time the vehicle travels a predetermined distance; a POI information acquisition unit which acquires pieces of POI information about POIs that have high popularity and exist within a predetermined range from the current position of the vehicle among the POIs belonging to predetermined genres; and a POI display unit which displays a plurality of types of icons corresponding to the genres determined by the pieces of POI information at corresponding positions on a map by using position information included in the respective pieces of POI information as candidate stopover points in a selectable manner.</p> |
