<p>Comminuted peat without or with addition of chemical fertilizers and contg. 70-80% water is simultaneously mixed, homogenised and granulated by centrifugal and vortex action in a suitable charge mixer and the granulate while wet is sieved to the desired particle size and the granules dried in a current of hot air at 100 degrees opt. in vacuo. Thus a mixture contg. 20% peat (dry wt.), 5% fertilizer and 75% water yields a product after drying that contains 56% peat (dry wt.), 14% fertilizer and 30% water.</p> |
