A ruthenium complex represented by the following general formula (2*), or a salt thereof:wherein each * represents an asymmetric carbon atom, R1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; an alkanesulfonyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms and optionally substituted with a halogen atom; an arenesulfonyl group optionally substituted with an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a halogenated alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or a halogen atom; an alkoxycarbonyl group having 2 to 11 carbon atoms in total; or a benzoyl group optionally substituted with an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, R2 and R3′ each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; a phenyl group optionally substituted with an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or a halogen atom; or a cycloalkyl group having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, or R2 and R3 may together form a ring, R10 to R14 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or a trialkylsilyl group, provided that the case where all of R10 to R14 simultaneously represent hydrogen atoms is excluded, and X′ represents a halogen atom. |
