PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel having a large number of functions.SOLUTION: A touch panel includes: a touch detection device; a map generation section configured to generate a data map including a fixed pattern and a data pattern, based on a signal output from the touch detection device according to an information recording medium placed in proximity to the touch detection device; and a data acquisition section configured to identify the fixed pattern, and acquire a data code from the data pattern, based on a result of identifying the fixed pattern.
