COMPOSITION, FILM, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition that can form a film exhibiting good electrical insulation and has excellent storage stability.SOLUTION: The composition includes a 4-methyl-1-pentene copolymer (A) satisfying requirements (i)-(v) as given below and a solvent: (i) the copolymer includes 50-95 mol% of a constitutional unit derived from a 4-methyl-1-pentene and/or a 3-methyl-1-pentene and 5-50 mol% of a constitutional unit derived from a 2-4C α-olefin; (ii) the intrinsic viscosity [&eegr;] as measured in decalin at 135°C is 0.5-5.0 (dl/g); (iii) the melting point (Tm) as measured by DSC is 200°C or lower or there is substantially no melting point; (iv) the density is 820-850 (kg/m3); and (v) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) as a ratio of a weight average molecular weight (Mw) to a number average molecular weight (Mn) as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) is 1.0 to 3.5.
