<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector capable of maintaining good optical properties after transforming an arrangement of light paths of a multicore fiber into a different arrangement.SOLUTION: An optical connector is for transforming an arrangement of cores of a multicore fiber into a different arrangement and includes; optical fibers 30 which are optically connectable to each core of the multicore fiber; a first end portion 10 which is located on a side of the multicore fiber to arrange the optical fibers 30 at one end in an array that is same as that of the multicore fiber; a second end portion 20 which is located on a side opposite to the first end portion 10 to arrange the optical fibers 30 at the other end to have fewer rows than the first end portion 10; an open space portion 60 which is located between the first and second end portions 10, 20 to allow the optical fibers 30 to extend from the first end portion 10 to the second end portion 20; and an alignment sleeve 40 which is located in the open space portion 60 to arrange the optical fibers 30 extending from the second end portion 20 to have the same number of rows as the fiber array at the first end portion 10.</p> |
