<p>Abstract The invention provides an electronic gaming machine (1) comprising a display (7) for displaying a game (8, 9, 49) and an electronic game controller (4) for controlling the display of game symbols (10) for the game on the display. The game (8, 9, 49) comprises game symbols (10) arranged into an array (11, 50) of predetermined symbol positions (13) to define a plurality of reels (12, 25, 30). The electronic game controller (4) causes the game symbols (10) in a first of the reels (12) to visually move in a linear path on the display (7) and the game symbols (10) in a second of the reels (25, 30) to visually move in a non-linear path on the display.
