1,138,139. Aluminium alloys; electrolytic etching and anodizing. ALUMINUM CO. OF AMERICA. Aug.30, 1967 [Sept.6, 1966], No.39762/67. Headings C7A and C7B. An aluminium alloy capacitor foil comprises either Cd or In in an amount of 0À0002-0À015% the balance, apart from up to 1% in total of impurities and incidental elements such as: - Cu up to 0À05% Mn up to 0À05% Fe and Si up to 0À55% being aluminium. The foil may be made by hot and cold working with annealing at 300-1200‹ F. followed by etching in a conventional manner. The foil may be electrolytically etched in aqueous Na Cl solution and then be anodically oxidized as follows: - Example 1, electrolytically etched in a solution of 200 g/1 Na Cl at 194‹ F. for 1¢ mins at a current density of 4À8 amps/sq. in. and anodized at 30 volts. Example 3, electrolytically etched in a solution of 80 g/1 Na Cl at 194‹ F. at a current density of 0À8 amps/sq. in. and anodized at 540 volts. |
